Predominant Consuming Nations
The largest palm oil consumers (relative to 2011) were India (where 14% of global palm oil was consumed), China (where 12% of global palm oil was consumed), the European Union (where 12% of global palm oil was consumed) and the United States of America (where 2% of global palm oil was consumed). Also, considering that Indonesia and Malaysia are the two largest palm oil producing nations in the world, these two countries combined, consumed a total of 22% of all global palm oil in this particular year.

Major Trade Flows of Palm Oil shows which nations are the largest consumers of palm oil and that the origins of the palm oil imported by these large consuming nations is equally from Indonesia and Malaysia. Global Consumption and Major Users of Palm Oil 1995 - 2010 shows (other than the largest consumers of palm oil) that the consumption of palm oil has done absolutely nothing but increase. It also shows that the countries mentioned above have been the largest consumers since at least 1995.
